Half term food offer

Leicester City Council is working in partnership with Samworth Brothers to give eligible families the opportunity to shop for free food and groceries for use over the May half term holiday.

Who can apply?

This offer is for families who have children that meet all of the following criteria:

  • receive benefits-related free school meals
  • who are in full time school (4 to 16 years)
  • live in Leicester City or attend a city school if they live outside of Leicester

Before you register

  • Consider the location, date and times slots before making your choice
  • Consider how you will transport your shopping from the venue
  • Only one shopping slot can be requested
  • Multiple applications for a household will not be considered and only the last application received will be processed.

      • Shop 1 - 10am to 11.15am
      • Shop 2 - 11.30am to 12.30pm
  • Thursday 23 May
    • Forest Lodge Academy
      • Shop 1 - 3.30pm to 4.30pm
      • Shop 2 - 4.30pm to 5.30pm
  • Friday 24 May
    • Soar Valley College
      • Shop 1 - 3.30pm to 4.30pm
      • Shop 2 - 4.30pm to 5.30pm
  • Saturday 25 May
    • Beaumont Leys School
      • Shop 1 - 10am to 11am
      • Shop 2 - 11am to 12noon
  • Sunday 26 May
    • Evington Leisure Centre
      • Shop 1 - 11am to 12noon
      • Shop 2 - 12noon to 1pm

How to register

Registration will open on 26 April 2024

Registration closes on Monday 6 May 2024.  Late applications will not be accepted.

Please be reminded:

  • Only one application per household is to be made, multiple applications will not be accepted and only the last form received for the household will be processed.
  • Places at the venues are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis to those who meet all of the above registration criteria.
