  • Famous Pancake Ride
    Group cycle ride for all the family to enjoy, taking in a stop for pancakes along the way.  Easy route and beginners welcome (£3)
  • Inspire - Live Art Event
    Come and explore how inspiration, play and expression keep us well. Create collaborative artwork, body art, poetry and music. 
  • Joke spots - The UK Kids' Comedy Festival 
    Joke Spot is a pop-up, interactive, touring activity ideal for anyone under 18 who wants to know what it’s like to be a comedy performer.  Children have the opportunity to get on stage and tell their favourite jokes into a microphone for their parents and passers-by to enjoy.
  • Doorstep Museum
    Your chance to experience the wonders of Leicester Museums and Galleries on your doorstep, including Peppy the Polar Bear ‘on-tour’ (Fox's Glacier Mint); walkabout performance of Inka the animatronic polar bear; The Cabinet of Curiosity, arts & crafts, storytelling, book displays and creative stay and play.

  • Decorating Plant Pots - Plant herbs or vegetables in your decorated pot.
  • Doorstep Museum - A chance to experience the wonders of Leicester Museums and Galleries on your doorstep. 
  • Family Learning Roadshow! - Learning through play fun activities hosted by Leicester Adult Education College
    • 12.30pm - 3.30pm at Leicester Adult Education College
  • Joke spots - The UK Kids' Comedy Festival 
  • Spring Crafts - Create some spring crafts to welcome the warmer months ahead! 
  • Stay and Play - Babies learning together
  • Story Imagin-ory: Popping to the Shops - Enjoy interactive storytelling sessions with the theme of popping to the shops. The session involves role play with Whistle Tot Lane and sensory activity time where children can immerse themselves in a role play shopping experience. Suitable for children aged 7 and under. £8 per child 

Tuesday 20 February

  • Ancient Egyptian Craft Activities - Handle replica artefacts, make an animal god mask, draw like an Egyptian artist. The hands-on activities are aimed at children aged 7-11 years old, but all ages are welcome to come along. Parents/carers must remain with children at all times, families can drop in to take part at any time. 
  • Bike Spinning - Paint on vinyl’s using a spin bike
  • Comedy Arts and Crafts - Create a joke book or comic book, make funny masks and stand up and tell a joke on the mic. (Ages 4 - 15)
  • Joke spots - The UK Kids' Comedy Festival 
  • Monster 'consequences' Drawing Game
  • Railway Day - Come and enjoy the Abbey Pumping Station and have a ride on Leonard the Steam Locomotive in action. Train rides cost 50p cash only, to be paid on the train.
  • Spring Crafts - Join us for some Spring themed papercrafts.
  • Story Imagin-ory: Popping to the Shops Suitable for children aged 7 and under. £8 per child 
  • Woodland Scene Theatre Activity - Decorate characters to go in our woodland scene.

  • The Glitch
    Join us in the bunker for hyper-bizarre, furiously fast-paced, post-apocalyptic sketch comedy, featuring: Dr Beak, a vending machine, Poems about Ants, and Half Man/Half Ham. Free but pre-booking essential.

Week long activities

  • Treasure Hunt - Find the 'Space' pictures hidden around the library, to earn a fun pack and sticker.  Add colour in a planet and contribute to our Outer Space Mural and take your Astronaut Selfie.  
  • Sustainability and the Natural World
    Do it yourself activities including a treasure hunt, word searches and colouring. Available during opening hours at:
  • Spring crafts table-top activities - Do it yourself activities such as colouring, word searches, board games and arts and crafts.  Activities may differ at each library.  Drop in during opening hours at:
  • Drop in activities at New Parks Library
    Find me a... book display - use the prompts to find books in the library to add to the display.  Add positive and inspirational messages to our Kindness Wall and take part in various arts and crafts activities including colouring and word searches.
