Monday 10 August

  • Bracelet making
    Read to the beat and make your own bracelet, using pony beads.

    Take part in free activities for all the family with Leicester's children, young people centres

Tuesday 11 August

    Enjoy free craft activities and family fun with a different theme each week. 
  • Meet the Police
    Free family fun day! Come meet local PCSO's at Leicester Guildhall and explore the history of Leicester's first police headquarters.  Try out our Victorian prison cells, put mum and dad in the stocks, play dress up and enjoy solving our mystery trail around the museum.  
  • Railway days
    Come and enjoy a ride on the diesel driven Narrow Gauge Railway this summer!  Bring a picnic to enjoy in the wonderful museum grounds. 

Wednesday 12 August

  • Castles and Cannons!
    Bring the kids to Newarke Houses Museum for a fun day of crafts, activities and facts about this historical area of the city. See our enormous cannons in front of the museum and make one of your own to take home. Garden games and trail.
    • 12noon to 3pm at Newarke Houses
    • Crafts and activities, £4 per child pre-booked online, or £5 at the door. Accompanying adults free. 
  • Drum spinners and festival bunting
    Make some noise with a drum spinner and cut out some festival foods to make your own decorative bunting.

  • Summer Family Fun Day
    Recreating the atmosphere of a village gala day with a wide range of stalls, vintage vehicles on display and one of the majestic beam engines in steam.

    A fun family event with games to play, plenty to see, and even coal fired chips freshly made from our very own vintage chip van. The café will also be serving light refreshments on the day.
