DCS Training courses
On behalf of the Disabled Children Service Behavioural Inclusion Service at CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) offer tailored training opportunities.

The training provided focuses on understanding behaviours via Positive Behaviour Support. The aim is to help trainees to identify what children or young people need to feel safe and secure and give them the best chance possible to feel content and to learn. It helps trainees to:
- Gain a clear overview of a child’s needs.
- Develop a framework to support understanding.
- Have a clearer view of how a child is experiencing the world.
- Think about aspects of their development and understanding and how this changes their behaviour”
Disability groups include:
- Intellectual (Learning) Developmental Disabilities
- Mental Health
- Autistic Spectrum Disorder
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
- How to support children who challenge services
The training is offered to short break providers with the intention they provide an inclusive environment within which a child or young person can enjoy short break activities.
There are free introductory set courses, and bespoke training, which means that if you attend an introductory course and require additional support you will receive tailored training and support from a qualified CAMHS professional. There is a programme of opportunities available or Behavioural Inclusion Service can offer specific training for your organisation.
