Measles - social media toolkit
Measles is a highly contagious and potentially serious disease that can affect people of all ages.
We would appreciate your help in sharing this information across your communication channels with your early years community.
Measles - know the symptons
Cold-like symptoms typically precede a rash, and these may include:
- High temperature
- Runny or blocked nose
- Sneezing
- A cough
- Red, sore, watery eyes
Children are infectious four days before the rash and for four full days from the onset of the rash and should not attend school. If any of your families are concerned, they should call the GP or ring 101; they should not go to the GP in person.
How you can help
Please encourage parents and carers to check that their child has received two doses of the MMR or MMRV vaccine. If they are unsure, they should contact their GP practice to check their child’s vaccination record and arrange any missing doses as soon as possible.
Please see all the latest vaccination updates.
