Holiday Food Provision 2018
Feeding Leicester are delighted to announce a programme of summer fun for 2018 to support children in the Leicester who are at risk of going hungry during school holidays.
Leicester City Council are working in partnership with Action Homeless and FareShare East Midlands to enable local community groups and adventure playgrounds to provide summer holiday meals and activities to children across Leicester.
Holiday clubs have a beneficial effect on children’s health, physical activity levels, educational progress and social skills. However, the summer holiday is particularly hard, as low-income families can struggle to cover the additional food costs over six weeks, particularly in the absence of free school meals.
